Hi,
I'm a 54 yr old gal who decided that a scoot commute was for me. We live in a rural area of New Hampshire, there would be no interstate highways in my short 3 mile commute to work.
Back in May I did alot of research online, visited the dealerships and within a short time came home with a red 100cc Aprillia Scarabeo. It has been quite a learning experience. I downloaded everything I could on the motorcycles skill test and set up a practice run in my driveway. I read scooter skills tests and downloaded everything I could find. Happily, I passed with flying colors and have been using my scooter for my daily commute ever since. I have to say, its great fun! I get alot of positive feedback and encouragement. The 75 mpg isn't bad either!

As gas prices climb higher, we are going to see more and more scooters on our highways. It would be nice to see some kind of public awareness program to alert drivers to the presence of more scooters (and motorcycles). So often one hears after a car versus motorcycle/scooter that the driver did not see the bike.

After such a rainy summer, I have only put on 350 miles since July, but have loved every minute of it. So I say to those who are interested, do your homework, find a scooter that's for you, and enjoy your scoot commute!
