2002 GP1 Fuel Gauge Trouble

I have a Fuel Gauge with a mind of it's own. It stops working after a few bumps then comes back on... the reserve light doesn't come on unless the tank is really low.
Where is the best place to look for loose wiring for this issue. How do I access the gauge and where can I find the tank sensor plug ins.
Any help would be appriciated.
