Gilera won't start

I have a VX125. Used to start fine.
left for two weeks it wouldn't start, had the starter relay clicking but no turning over - fairly standard signs of a dead battery (I thought)
Connected up my Optimate - fully charged and lights on green.

I tried to start the bike but got nothing beyond the relay clicking.

I have tried to recode the key from the brown key but it doesn't help

Anybody got any ideas?
