1981 Honda Express Moped problem

i have an 1981 moped that didnt run to well until a friend and i took a part the caburator and cleaned, now it starts about 40 percent of the time and if you spary carb cleaner in the carb it starts right up, but still you can only go about a mile be it dies and floods again. any ideas what the problem is,
