Signal lights wont turn off on GP1

I'm having problems with my signal lights on my gp1. last night i rode in the rain and while i was coming home i realized that the signals wouldn't turn off. I tried again this morning and had the same problem. I opened up the signal switch housing on the left side of the steering column and saw that it was wet inside. Could this be causing a short? This has happend twice to me but i only had problems for about 10 minutes or so before.

On top of that during normal riding only the left turn signal turns off just by pressing the off switch, when i have the the right turn switch on i have to switch to the left light and then turn it off.

Is this a general problem with the switch or the fact that its getting wet?

Please help, I've had to go back to my 2.5 hour round trip commute on public transport!
