Variator for Honda Aero 80

I have a 1983 Honda Aero 80 two-stroke scooter with over 10,000 miles on it. I just finished a top end rebuild and thought I'd have a look at the transmission. The variator is cooked, the roller weights got stuck and gouged the guides on the back of the drive face. Honda wants a lot of cash for the replacement parts. Does anyone know of an aftermarket variator (i.e. Malossi, Polini. etc) that can fit this model and maybe offer a little performance increase?
