Hi,

I purchased two of last year's model "cheepy" scooters at about $800 each. I got a little less than I paid for. (They were Qingqi 49cc, single speed automatics). One especially has shown a lot of wear after only about 1200 miles. Many small mech. problems. One biggy caused by fan shattering and burning head gasket. Parts were way to high for what they were. Frames were too light weight for the intended riders (about 210 lb riders). The scooters top out at about 35mph as long as your on fairly level ground.

I have just purched two of this year's reasonably priced ($999 each) Turbo Euro Elite scooters from a different source than my first scooters. These scooter have a very substantial frame and suspension. They pull hills extreamly well (still 49cc engines but these are Yamaha engines with CVT trannys) We have easily averaged 45mph even up fairly substantial grades and have topped out at probably close to 60mph. Having ridden 125cc bikes with 4 speed trans when I was a kid, I would say these scooters have a very similar take off and pulling capacity. (In excess of 6 HP @7000 rpm)

You can email me if you want to know where I got the scooters and how the service has been.
