Hi Everyone,
I am very new to scooters just got my first one about a week ago. It is a 2003 zip r3. I have wanted a scooter for about 2 years now and my husband kept telling me the back of his Harley was my place and I didn't need a scooter. Well I am not working at the elementary school about 6 blocks away and decided that a scooter would be perfect for back and fourth to work. I got this scooter used, as is, no manual and I really have no knowledge of upkeep. I am wondering if there is a place that sells owner manuals. I have called every place in town with no luck. Maybe someone out there can answer a few questions for me and help me learn the ropes.
First, I think I have a short somewhere...it is wierd, during the day I have no headlight but at night time it seems to work fine. Now I know this thing does not know the difference from night and day and I must have a short. I also only have a bright light, no dim. I am sure that is just a bulb.
I put 2 cycle oil in it today in the hole under the seat. Should that be filled all the way to the top? There is no dipstick...well accept for me..lol. Any tips or websites that anyone could send me sure would be appreciated. I would like to be able to take care of this scooter on my own just to prove to the ol man that I can.
