A stock GP1 with the restrictors removed will have a top speed between 56 and 60 MPH. At 7.5 hp unrestricted, it is also one of the most powerful 50cc scooter you can buy. The stock acceleration is excellent, but it still cannot compare to larger displacement bikes. I've owned other Asian 50cc scooters and there is no comparison in performance, and build quality. Derbi scooters are expensive, but you pay for what you get. I am completely satisfied with my GP1--vh286
