ESRA EASTERN SCOOTER RACING ASSOCIATION

Top level Scooter Related News

The Eastern Scooter Racing Association (ESRA) is an active organization that sponsors motor scooter road racing in the Eastern US. Much of the ESRA activity takes place on two racetracks, Circleville Raceway Park in Circleville OH, about 20 miles south of Columbus, and BeaveRun Raceway in Beaver Falls PA, about 30 miles northwest of Pittsburgh. Most of the ESRA events are run in conjunction with the Ohio YSR League

The ESRA season runs from May through October and usually features eight or nine races. Our members currently travel from Missouri, Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, New York, Rhode Island and Canada.

Classes are as follows:
Stock Class for geared scooters (mostly vintage bikes)
Stock Class for automatic scooters
Specials Class for highly tuned scooters

ESRA rules can be found in the “Files” section of this site. We are still operating under the rules approved for 2005.

Anyone is welcome to come out to the track and race whatever he, or she, cares to compete on. You will need leathers, boots, gloves and a Snell approved full face helmet. Your scooter will need to have all lights taped, the side/center stand removed, and some safety wiring completed. This is a great opportunity to get the feel of scooter racing without investing a lot of time and effort in building a dedicated race bike.
