If you didn't get one of these in your stocking, Santa must have thought your were really naughty. But don't worry it's not too late to pick up a copy of this incredible new scooter guide by Michael & Eric Dregni.
|
This 288 page full color guide is packed with photos and history that will make even the biggest scooter buff drool like a kid in a candy store. The guide covers scooters from all reaches of the world starting from the first scooter on through the modern day scooters.
I especially liked the way it is organized, making it easy to see how different countries had different ideas of what constituted the perfect blend of style and function.

1955 Maico-Mobil Advertisement
|
One of my favorites was the Maico-Mobil which looked like a giant carpet cleaner on wheels. The scooter is what I call "Beautifully Ugly". Wouldn't mind getting my hands on one of these.
In addition to the history of scootering and the sections categorized by locale it also offers a great A-Z listing of scooter manufacturers. I would highly recommend picking up a copy. It will sit proudly on my coffee table and I will never tire of flipping through the photos. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would give it a 9.5.
This book is available online through White Horse Press and can also be found at All Outdoors Cycles in Manchester, NH.
