Cruising the backroads of Stonyridge, OH

Top level Member Stories

A story from Kenny Hetrick of Stonyridge, OH about his new Stella.

My name is Kenny Hetrick i live in Stonyridge, Ohio. I am a police officer And deputy Sheriff. I have been a weightlifter for 45 Years.

Long time ago i had a new 200cc vespa. I drove it from here to Clearwater, Florida with my 10 year old son riding along. Had a tent and two sleeping bags tied on the back. When we got back from Florida we drove thru the Blueridge parkway to Gatlinburg, TN. Never had any scooter problems. The Vespa could cruise at 72 miles per hour. I put 57,000 miles on it and sold it for what i paid for it.

I recently purchased a new Stella, It is really cool, Bright red. The dealer said it will only go 60 miles per hour. It has lots of featurs the vespa didn't have.

The kids are grown up now, But i still love riding the Scooter. I ride a new Road King Harley for the Police Dept. Driving that wears me out. Riding the scooter out country roads is really relaxing.

I bought my Scooter in Columbus, Ohio. I know its made in India, but this scooter has first class workmenship. It's still a two stroke, but smokes very little. It has it's own spare tire behind the left fender. It has a four-speed shifter on the handlebar. When i drive it into town, everyone wants to know where i got it, all kinds of Questions. This one is twelve volt with electric and kick start. I plan on dressing it up soon. When you are driving it the motor is behind you. All you hear is a humming noise, from the exhaust. Traffic is out there moving lots faster now, so if you don't get out of the way, people will run you over.

I am taking a long ride somewere this summer. It has to be back roads, the girl's love my scooter, they all want me to take them for a ride. "It's rally a swt scooter".

Kenny
